Solar Panels are reliable as well as extremely durable, they can face many years without having any issues but there are a few cases where a solar panel might need maintenance. In this case a solar panel expert or repairman is called to check on the solar panel. These are highly trained individuals who know the ins and outs of the solar panel through and through so you can rest assured that they will make sure that your solar panel is in tip top condition. However knowing what these solar panel experts are inspecting will help you understand the process and how they operate so that you can generate a sense of trust with the repairman.
The first thing that solar panel repairmen do is listen to your call. People call their solar panel contractor or a solar panel repair service and tell them about the problem. They will listen and understand your query and determine possible reasons for the problems. A simple description will suffice but if you can provide a more detailed explanation it is advised to provide it.
Next they will arrive at the place where the solar panel is installed and you are advised to direct them to the solar panel and explain the problem that the solar panel is facing. Then they will be able to start inspecting the solar panel(s).
First after making sure that the electricity is turned off they will inspect the solar panel, the stand and then the circuitry of the solar panel.
1. The Solar Panel
The solar is inspected first visually. They will look at the various parts of the solar panel, and they will do a full inspection of the solar panel. This includes inspecting every part of the solar panel, the glass, the frame, the solar cells and other parts of the panel to check if there is any issue unless the issue is very noticeable such as a big crack in the glass or the frame. Then they will test the solar panel with a multimeter which is a device that records the electrical output of the solar panel. If the solar panel’s output is less than desired then they will take appropriate measures to resolve the issue.
2. The Stand
Solar panels that are installed on the stands are inspected as well. Solar Panels are supposed to be angled at 30° to 45° because this is the best angle to place a solar panel for most efficient power generation. If the panel isn’t angled at these specific angels then the expert will angel them in that angle. The structure is also inspected if there are cracks, rust or anything else that will lead to the degradation of the structure.
3. The Circuitry
The circuitry is also checked. It includes the junction box, the Solar Inverter and other such parts. These parts are the most likely to require replacement and if there is an issue with the solar panel then these are the components that are the likely cause for the solar panel not working. The repairmen will know which wires to be replaced and which to be adjusted. Solar Panel experts are also well trained electricians to a certain degree. They know the detailed electric work that people have to go through in order to make it so that the solar panel functions in a smooth manner.
There are also other things that the expert checks such as the place where the solar panel is installed, the weather of the place and such minor things that might affect the operations of the solar panel but these issues don’t occur if the installation of your solar panel(s) is done properly.
